Bill Hayes from the Boulder County Public Health Department will share his stories and EH&S challenges dealing with the Boulder wildfires. This event is part of the AIHA-RMS Lunch & Learn series.

Speaker Bio
Bill Hayes is the Air Quality Coordinator at Boulder County Public Health where he has worked for the past 19 years. Bill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Colorado Schools of Mines, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer. He started his professional career at the Electric Boat Shipyard in Groton, Connecticut designing compressed air systems for nuclear submarines. That experience led him to Colorado where he worked on the decommissioning and cleanup of the Rocky Flats. While at Public Health, Bill has worked on business sustainability, building efficiency, indoor and outdoor air quality, oil and gas operations, and climate change with a focus of social justice and racial equity.

Bill is also the founder of the Boulder Wine Society, a certified fly fishing guide and former Ironman triathlete.
