Keith Robinson will be presenting a luncheon Program titled: Using Computational Fluid Dynamics to Study Industrial Ventilation Systems.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software is used to model a wide variety of fluid dynamics systems. CFD can also be used to model situations of particular interest to Industrial Hygienists such as modeling the dispersion of solvent vapors, the performance of dilution ventilation systems, local exhaust ventilation systems, and the performance of lab hoods. In this presentation, several different case studies are presented that show how CFD can be used to simulate proposed systems before they are built, increasing confidence that the system will provide adequate worker protection.
