General Environmental Regulations
Janet Burgesser/ Rob Cochrane -- City and County of Denver, Department of Environmental Health
This presentation will briefly outline the following areas: air quality regulations and water quality regulations. During this presentation one will learn the difference between attainment and non-attainment air quality areas; specific air regulation requirements for specific industries; what and where fugitive air emissions might occur; differences in regulations relating to storm drains versus sanitary sewer drains; and the requirements for discharging process waters.
RCRA Hazardous Waste Generation
Edward Smith -- CDPHE
This presentation will provide an overview of the hazardous waste regulations beginning with how the regulations were codified and why. Then discuss how a hazardous waste determination is made and the regulatory requirements that apply to the three categories of hazardous waste generators. Finally, it will conclude with a case study involving a facility that knowingly mismanaged hazardous waste.
SARA Title 3
David Cobb -- US EPA
This presentation will present the history of SARA Title III and related statues, including: EPCRA 302-303: Emergency Preparedness Requirements, EPCRA 304/CERCLA 103: Release Reporting Requirements, EPCRA 311/312: Inventory Reporting, and EPCRA 313: Toxic Release Inventory. Additionally, this presentation will discuss various related statutes regarding a facility Risk Management Plan and a facilities general duty with respect to the communities right-to-know about hazardous chemicals.
Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures
Jeffrey Citrone -- IMA
This presentation will discuss the applicability and requirements of the Oil Pollution Prevention Act. Specific topics will include what is considered regulated oil; what are the threshold amounts that must be present at a facility to trigger the planning requirements; what must be included in a SPCC plan; and what follow-up must be done to stay in compliance with the regulations.
Storm Water
Bill Robinson -- Stormwater Risk Management
This presentation will present the requirements for Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, with special emphasis on vertical build projects.
